8 Minutes Late

2015 | digital photographic print series | 100mm x 100mm | image: David Ogle

Sometimes the Sun shines in through the windows of my house and makes squares of light, like paintings hanging on the wall. They move and disappear over time, so I take photographs of them with my phone. They mark the endpoint of a straight line, travelling from my house and out across inter-planetary space; passing through the orbits of Venus and Mercury and back to the surface of the Sun. They arrive on my walls at the end of this journey, many millions of miles crossed in a time of 8 minutes.
